Eitoku Gakuen is an elite school, where the extremely rich send their children to. The school is ruled by Flower 4 or F4, four boys from the most powerful families in Japan. Domyoji Tsukasa is the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group, Hanazawa Rui, son of a large company, Nishikado Sojiro, an heir of a tea ceremony school, and Mimasaka Akira, a "madam killer" with ties to the undergroun make up the F4. If someone upsets F4, they get a red notice and usually driven out of hte school.

Makino Tsukushi is the poorest student in the school. She keeps quiet day in and day out. One day she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day she gets a red notice. She continues to go to school and take the harassment. She fights back at the source of the harassment, the F4, declaring war. But her strong will only raises emotion feeling with her enemies.

The series was based off of a Japanese shoujo manga with the same title. The comic originally was made into a Taiwanese series with the title "Meteor Garden." The same story line was used in a Filipino drama, and rumors of an upcoming South Korean show is spreading. The series in Japan had a second season in 2007 with 11 episodes. The second season picks up right where the first one left. And a movie for the series was made.

Both seasons had won many awards, season two for Best Drama twice, and Mao Inoue and Jun Matsumoto both won awards for best actor/tress for both season.
