Choi Han-sung has been left by his girlfriend Han Yoo-joo. She left for America where she started dating Han-sungs cousin, Choi Han-kyul. The two seperate, and Han-kyul returns to Korea. When Yoo-joo returns to Korea, she reject Han-kyul, and tries to go back to Han-sung. But he has to decide if getting back together with Yoo-joo is worth his time. Not to mention, Han-Kyul still tries to win Yoo-joo back.
Go Eun-chan can only get a job as a Fast Food deliver "boy", despite her sex. While delivering some food she gets into an accident, involving a stolen bag and a broken moped. She saves the purse for Han Yoo-joo, but Choi Han-kyul thinks that they were set up. Refusing to let Yoo-joo give her card out, he gives his if Eun-chan desires a reward. Needly to say, Eun-chan looses her job from the accident, and called Han-kyul due to the desperate times.
When Eun-chan called Han-kyul up, she is constantly ridiculed. Eun-chan demands respect and comes to the meet, Han-kyul thinks Eun-chan is a boy, and makes a deal with her. Instead of just giving her money, he would let her work with him. What is her job? To play as his male lover to chase away unwanted blind-dates.
Needless to say there is Coffee in the title. Well, Choi Han-kyul's grandmother is dying, and wants Han-kyul to have a set future. She tries to set him up dates, but that fails. So she forces him to become manager of a local coffee shop. If he doesn't reach double (or maybe triple) the amount she loaned out to it, then he is going to be shipped out to the United States. When the shop opens, feeling for Eun-chan already starts to take toll and he hires her to work for him at the coffee shop, forcing her to keep being a boy.
Go Eun-chan

Our leading lady is Go Eun-chan. She is the "man" of her household, earning food and money. Her mother dates around, attracting all the older working men of the town. While her sister dates around using guys for their money in order pay for her singing lessons. Before working at the Coffee Shop, Eun-chan worked many jobs such as Taekwondo teacher, nut sheller, sewer, delivery, and even did temp waitressing. At first Eun-chan has a crush on Ahjussi Han-sung, who was on her route for delivering milk. But as she works more at the Coffee Shop she is falling for Ahjussi Han-kyul.
Choi Han-kyul
Played By: Gong Yoo
Choi Han-kyul has grown up believing that his rich father was unfaithful to his wife. He grew up despising his father, and being very close to his mother. When he grew up though, he was very spoiled by his mother and lived in New York City for a few years building Lego models for a living. He dated Han Yoo-joo, his cousin's ex-girlfriend. When the two broke up, Han-kyul returned to Korea with his family. When he works at the Coffee shop he starts to develop feelings for Eun-chan, going through an identity crisis, worrying about if he is really gay. He also learns about his real parents.
Choi Han-sung
Played By: Lee Sun-gyun
Han-sung is our main man for the love b-story. He was once MADLY in love with Yoo-joo. We, the audience, at plopped right from the start in his life with out Yoo-joo. He seems lonely, but copping with his loss. When Yoo-joo comes back, he goes through a rollar coaster of emotions for his ex-girlfriend, remembering why they broke up, but remembering why they got together. This are really stirred up, when he becomes friends with Eun-chan. They first talk about their relationship issues, but he soon grow to admire Eun-chan, which grows to love. But who is really the girl that he is love with?
Han Yoo-joo
Played By: Chae Jung-ahn
Yoo-joo is a HUSSY. Pure and simple. All we know about her is that she dated Han-sung and Han-kyul, who are both as close as brothers. She is a well to do painter, who in an interview has said that she reject marriage, even refusing to contact her mother over the matter. She goes through the series flirting with Han-sung and Han-kyul and even flirts with her old boyfriend DK (a art manager). Through the series, she has to decide what her relationship with Han-sung means, and comes to term with what it means to "be in love"
